Odeon Cinema - London Road

c1950s

The Odeon Cinema was opened as the Buckland Picture House in 1920, it became the Regent Picture House in 1923 and in 1937 named the Regent after rebuilding.  In 1943 it was acquired by Odeon Cinemas, to be demolished in 1971 supposedly due to the rise in popularity of the television.  It stood on the site in London Road, now occupied by the TA Drill Hall.
